Join Ocean Dive Zanzibar for an unforgettable snorkeling experience!
The snorkeling excursion involves a boat trip to Mnemba Atoll from Matemwe or Tumbatu Island from Nungwi, the best snorkeling spots in Zanzibar! You will enjoy two 45-minute long snorkeling sessions at different sites.
Like snorkeling but want to experience the world beneath you? If you have never dived before but would like to, you can partake in the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program!
Minimum age: 10 years
Preparation
- Pack a bag containing sunscreen, a swimsuit, and a towel
- Bring a waterproof camera, if you have one
- Leave your valuables at the hotel, if possible. You will also be able to leave your bag in a locked office at the dive center.

Snorkeling Trip
At the dive center:
- You will meet and greet our team who will brief you on the excursion
- You will be fitted for a wetsuit, reef-shoes, fins, a mask, and a snorkel
- Your wetsuit and reef-shoes will be numbered and stored for you on the boat
- Clothing and personal items will be securely stored in the office
On the boat:
- The crew will introduce themselves and provide a safety briefing
- Water will be available on board
- The trip to the first snorkeling site takes about 15 minutes
At the first snorkeling site:
- Your snorkeling guide will assist you with your gear, including life jackets if needed
- Once in the water, you will follow your guide who will show you the incredible marine life
- The first snorkeling session lasts around 45 minutes
- The staff will help you back onto the boat
Break:
After the first snorkeling session, you will be offered snacks and tea while the boat moves to the second location. The break lasts around 30-45 minutes.
